Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics and Data Sciences

  • Business Problem Solving and Domain Expertise
    • Works with partners in the domain to develop their conceptual understanding of the underlying Systems, Reporting and analytical Model
    • Grasp requirements on call and deliver to specification; Present to Senior Management & Leadership
    • Present findings to team leads/managers and also to external stakeholders;
    • Drive stakeholder engagements by driving complex analytical projects including bottoms-up projects
    • Project/Program Management to keep stakeholders and team engaged throughout the delivery process
    • Develop storyboards for executive presentations
  • Delivery & Reviews:
    • Lead Team for delivery
      • Be able to specify the specifications for data analysis and review work outputs and suggest improvements;
      • Review outputs of team and drive quality output via reviews
      • Be hands-on and Lead Teams that solve problems using a variety of tools and solve business problems in the areas of digital, pricing, order management, support, sales, marketing, partner;
    • Program Management
      • Excellent Program Management & Structured Operations
      • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a multi task environment; guiding junior analysts
  • Mentoring & Leading:
    • Mentor Senior Analysts, Lead Analysts on a work front and guide them towards effective Delivery
  • Business Impact
    •  Deliver business impact $ by driving key analytical projects
    • Review outputs of team and drive quality output via reviews
  • Performance Management:
    • Able to mentor team leads and managers on career, performance discussions
    • Drive performance acceleration discussions with periodic check-ins including goal-setting, follow-ups ...etc
    • Able to review and communicate reviews effectively to junior, senior & lead analysts; and managers
  • Analytical Depth
    • Translates fuzzy problems into a structured & scoped problem
    • Is able to envision & implement the optimal analytics technique/approach required for the problem
    • Identifies root cause of the problems even when they lay in other functional areas and communicates promptly to the respective stakeholders
    • Is able to work effectively to understand the outputs of data scientists and use it in the work; Is able to create scored lists by different cuts and has the analytical ability to understand & use data sciences output
    • Is able to partner with data scientists in defining the problem, is able to program manage effectively with data scientists and present along-with data scientists to the business
    • Be able to build hands-on develop propensity models (to buy, to sell, to respond), lead nurture, segmentation,  cross-sell/up-sell models, forecasting using R, SAS, Python or any other language/Machine learning libraries or GUI Tools
    • Bring in Knowledge of statistical or data science methods to deliver insights desired
  • Talent Management:
    • Come up with talent development plan (Individual Development Plans/IDPs) for the team members and work with the rest of the organization to ensure they have a good career path
    • Build Strong Team by attracting and retaining the best talent
    • Able to mentor teams of analysts on career, performance discussions
  • Org building:
    • Lives the EPIC2 values
    • Participates in team discussions/meetings/events
    • Shares knowledge with other team members pro-actively by creating/sharing works in forums
    • Participates in interviewing candidates; Participates in the hiring process in any capacity: taking interviews/working on question banks/campus hiring
    • Participates in floor/org level activities
    • Able to mentor written communication of senior & lead analysts
    • Able to communicate with senior leaders to be effectively able to drive org level initiatives


  • Good knowledge of databases/SQL, relevant tools like R or Python, GUI Tools Data Labs, Omniture (if digital);
  • Shows drive to increase the breadth & depth of tools and system
  • Knowledge of below is a significant plus
    • R or SAS or a statistical programming language, SQL, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Knowledge desirable across Greenplum, Usage of various machine learning or statistical libraries
