VMware has recently announced the Beta of VMware Blockchain, our Enterprise-grade blockchain service that is based on the Project Concord open source platform. We are now building out a complete business and engineering team to fuel the sustained growth of this new offering.

About the role:
As a blockchain field engineer, you will be responsible for our technical interactions with our emerging business in a given geography.
- Present VMware Blockchain vision and technologies, strategy, and product roadmaps to executives, technical management and technical engineers
- Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of, industry directions, and trends
- Maintain working knowledge of competitive architectures
- Assist business development in preparation of proposals, statement of work, and supporting documents for prospects
- Work collaboratively with business development, product management, technical marketing, developer community and engineering during the development, launch and continuing refinement of VMware Blockchain products
- Represent VMware Blockchain at meetups, hack-a-thons, and industry trade shows
- Maintain, grow, and leverage technical pre-sales relationships with key partner field organizations and VMware System Engineers
- 5+ years’ experience in technology related work, including pre-sales systems engineer or customer-facing engineer working on large scale enterprise and service provider environments
- Having a deep understanding of the blockchain ecosystem, including competitors, partners, and technology solutions will be essential.
- Development experience with OO programming and full stack development.
- Strategic thinker with experience presenting solutions to senior-level audiences.
- Strong desire and ability to connect with customers, understand their challenges, and communicate a vision for how VMware Blockchain products can address those challenges.
- Experience taking early stage products from concept through early go-to-market.
- Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presented content.
- Ability to travel 30-50+% required.
What would be great to have:
- Knowledge of distributed systems
- Consulting experience or equivalent business strategy work
- Experience or understanding of supply chain, telecommunications, energy/oil and gas, or financial services
- Ability to handle a number of concurrent activities with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related technology field or equivalent experience.
